ARTIST STATEMENT

Making quilts embraces everything I love.
I love fabrics, colors, lines and shapes, creating, designing and piecing together countless pieces of fabric.
In short making a quilt is for me one big party and adventure.
My inspiration comes from daily life and nature.

My quilts are contemporary in style and mostly abstract in design.
The way I construct my quilts is time consuming and sedate and I honour the traditional way of quilting.
My quilts often consist of many pieces of fabric that I piece by machine and quilt by hand.
I prefer using hand dyed cotton fabric.
